...do you mistake me that much?
I read virtually all the rulebooks front to back. The battle took place in a barracks room outside the feasting chamber of the Goblin's den, and after someone decided to shine a Sunrod in the face of the sleeping sentry Bugbear all hell broke loose. Though, one of the four half-asleep Goblin Cutters in the room got coup-de-graced...
Oh, that, and the commotion woke the sleeping Cutters in the next room, creating quite the battle, with the Bugbear dealing a good deal of damage while the Cutters continued to swarm.
I figured a 400 XP battle would be enough for the party, though it pretty much took out all their strength...then again, they didn't bother healing after getting through the first barracks area in the entry to the cave...fun one, that. They stormed into a small room with a bunch of Goblin Warriors playing cards, waking up a Blackblade in another room in the process.
Edit: When I say "flubbed a few rolls", I mean in the party's favor, not mine.

Heh. Much better. it sounded like the bugbear was all alone, from the way you described it.
I tend to prefer Kobolds, but part of that is probably the part that likes dragons. If I do end up NPCing part of the party, you'll probably get Punji the Fighter at "some point."

;_; Feel free to kill me. DnD is proving much more confusing to me than SR3 was two months ago.
Edit: I apologize, but you'll have to count me out. If I have to rely on macros to fill out a character sheet because I don't understand what goes where and why, then there is no way I'm going to be able to figure out how to play the actual game

If I have to rely on macros to fill out a character sheet because I don't understand what goes where and why, then there is no way I'm going to be able to figure out how to play the actual game ...it was harder for me to figure out the Showdown's system than it was 4th edition DnD...and of course I've never played DnD beforehand, so... The creation system is, in my opinion, easy as all hell to figure out. I can't say I'm sure what your problem could be. Also, back from hiatus.

That book just feels convoluted to me...and I have no love for Wizards of the Coast, which makes it just off putting enough for me to not make the effort to understand what I can't get in three passes of a passage.
