Level 1 starts with 100 GP
Since it seems to just be the two of you, do you want to have 2 characters each, or should I try running NPCs to cover the party gaps? A 2 character groop, with no tank... has a hard time.

I COULD work with a chat one. A forum D&D COULD get slow.

D; I fear chat, especially if it's IRC, but it's not outta the question. I just got hit on by another guy when I went int one, so...yeah. You talk to anyone on CERP about it?

I've pretty much worn out my welcome for talking about D+D there. If you want to, it'd probably be a bit more effective.
The only online tabletop gaming I did, was on a *muck. It worked out pretty well, except the part where you need a non-free email account to get an ID, or you have to log in every hour as a guest.

That....could get annoying.
Also, I DMed my first game yesterday. It was fun attempting to make up stuff along the way...but I noticed how difficult it is for just 3 guys to survive.
Then again, it was just a Bugbear...I'm pretty sure the characters would have survived even if it knocked them out...

...4th ed? You put one 200 XP foe against 3 Level one characters?... or was it 3rd? they significantly reworked things.

4th Ed.
I had to flub a few rolls during combat, though...let's just say the dice were in my favor the whole game.
I mean, every roll of mine was at least 15, and theirs couldn't really compare with the usual high roll being a 12 and an occasional critical.

>.>' Didn't you read the section on designing encounters? Let me guess. You had them in a featureless room, too.
The only creatures that are supposed to go against an entire party alone are labled "solo." You should see that they have massively higher XP cost, for their level, have higher hit points, and Action points. Yet their defences (AC, ect) are still low enough to be hit. Enemies in groops are now the norm.
RTFDMG?
