The giant of the solar system, Jupiter has a surface gravity twice that of earth... if you define "surface" loosely. Floating cities like those on Venus mine the atmosphere of needed gasses, but the locals, modified to wistand their gravity, have begun to consider themselves "above" the rust of humanaty.
